Northstar · Private knowledge and work software · In development

A private home for the knowledge behind your work.

Northstar is a lightweight, self-hosted workspace for knowledge, work tracking, and routine job configuration. It is being designed for individuals, home offices, and small organizations that want a practical system they can own and operate.

A lighter operating surface

Keep useful knowledge close to the work.

Northstar is intended for people who need more structure than scattered files but do not want to adopt a heavy enterprise platform.

Knowledge

Organize what the work depends on.

Keep procedures, reference material, notes, and working context organized and searchable.

Work tracking

Keep decisions and follow-ups visible.

Track active work, decisions, ownership, and the information connected to them.

Routine operations

Configure lightweight recurring jobs.

Define and monitor practical recurring work without turning a small environment into a large software project.

Designed for local ownership

A version you can keep.

Northstar is being developed around a Windows and IIS-hosted interface, PostgreSQL-backed storage, and a clearly packaged set of supporting components.

The intended commercial model is a one-time perpetual license for the purchased release. Installation, hosting, support, and future major releases would remain separate choices.
